TUITION + FEES

CAREY exists to empower faithful Christian leaders for every generation, every culture and every community. Fees are kept competitive in order to make theological education as accessible as possible. This is made possible through the generous support of churches from the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada, foundations, and interested friends.

 

Course registration and tuition is due two weeks prior to the start of class. If you are unable to meet this deadline, please submit a letter of appeal to the Student Life Office. Payment plans can be negotiated as needed.

Payment of all fees and tuition must be in Canadian dollars. Cheques, bank drafts, postal money orders, Visa, MasterCard, or Debit are acceptable forms of payment.


Two payment options are available:


Option A
One Payment: All tuition is due and payable two weeks prior to the first day of a course.


Option B
Two Payments: 50% tuition is due two weeks prior to the first day of a course. Remaining 50% is due 5 weeks after the semester begins (half way through the course). Access to the course will be granted once the first payment is received. No interest or finance fees will be charged if the payments are received on time. If payment is received late, interest of 18% per annum is charged, calculated from first due date. A Late Payment fee of 10% of the balance owing, up to a maximum of $55, may also be charged.


Note: Any outstanding payments will result in the withholding of degree parchments, transcripts and grade reports until resolved with the Student Life Office. Accounts must be clear before the beginning of the following term. Application for extensions may be submitted to the Student Life Office for a maximum of 12 months.

Canadian Baptists of Western Canada

Participating in the training of future ministers and the ongoing development of current ministers is important to the collective work of the denomination. Students with the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada are advised that three types of student aid funds are available through the Canadian Baptist Foundation. Application is made directly to the Foundation.

 


 

Teaching Assistantships (TA’S)

Teaching Assistantships are available to selected students. TA’s, usually second or third year students, assist professors in various areas such as preparing bibliographies, cataloguing books, filing, monitoring classes, photocopying. Normally, the stipend is applied directly to the student’s tuition fees, if 12 credit hours of study are being completed at the time.

 


 

Applying for Student Assistance

Application forms for Student Assistance are available through Carey Theological College (Registrar’s Office).The normal date for application for funding for students wishing to begin at the start of an academic year (September start) would be April 15 each year. Review and renewal of funding awards are normally processed each April. Applications and requests for financial assistance submitted at other times of the year will normally be processed by the Student Assistance Committee the month following the date the application for Assistance is received.
